Summer Choice Work and Travel was started by Craig Edwards who started out as a work and travel program participant in 2005. He has traveled to and from the US for the past 16 years. Wanting to give others the same experience he started recruiting 10 years ago and has now started his own Work and Travel company.

Q. What is a J1 Work and Travel Program?
A. It is a program that issues J-1 Visas to participants to travel to the United States to work Legally, travel and promote cultural exchange.
Q. Do I need to be a current student to participate?
A. Yes, since this is a J-1 Cultural Exchange program it is only offered to students currently enrolled at a College/University full-time. Transcripts must be provided.
Q. Where will I live and work?
A. Housing will be provided by each employer and you will live and work in various parts of the DC Metropolitan area, Florida, South Carolina, Minnesota, Jersey, Missouri, California, etc.
Q. Do I need prior experience?
A. No experience is necessary. However for lifeguard positions, Before you leave for the program you will receive training and be certified as an Ellis and Associates Lifeguard.
Q. Do you only offer lifeguard position?
A. No, we also offer housekeeping, food service, front desk, theme park, culinary, maintenance, guest room attendant, kitchen staff and more.
Q. What are the benefits of the Work and Travel program?
A. You will earn an hourly wage with opportunities to earn overtime, early arrival and performance bonuses. In addition to earning money you get the opportunity to experience the many cultures and attractions the United States has to offer.
Q. Will housing be provided?
A. Housing will be provided with rent deducted fortnightly.
Q. Do we make our own travel arrangements?
A. Yes you make your travel arrangements, if you need assistance with flight purchase we are more than happy to assist.
Q. Are we allowed to work a second job?
A. Yes, however it must be approved by your sponsor.
Q. I do not live in St. Ann, may I still apply for the program?
A. Yes, all the process may be done online.
Q. What is a DS 2019 Form?
A. It is a multi-purpose document issued by the U.S. government-approved organization certifying that your admission into a program has been accepted and that you have demonstrated sufficient financial resources to stay in the US for the length of the DS-2019 form.
Q. What is a Sevis ID?
A. It is a unique identifier assigned to you by the U.S. government.
